As a matter of fact, Concannon were the first to commercialize Petite Syrah as a varietal wine. It has been a great success for them. This dark wine has rich and complex aromas of dark cherries, blackcurrant, blueberries and plum. As the wine breathes, your scent will be tickled by mocha, leather, smoked bacon, soft cinnamon spice and vanilla. This wine marries bold and beautiful: strong well rounded tannins, ripe fruit, and a touch of residual sugars. Because of the low acidity, you might feel the residual sugars are a bit much, but pair this wine with a Stout beer stew, or venison and your mind will be at ease.
