Who knew Beaujolais' 11th cru is in Canada!
Like a well made Gamay, this wine is of a bright and pale red. The nose is very complex and developed. Its bouquet is full of fruit aromas like fresh cherries, blackberries, strawberries, and fresh plum. It opens to notes of oak, of cedar, and of soft spices like anise seed, clove and pink peppercorn. Light-to-medium in body, with firm but supple tannins, this gamay has freshness and a classy and elegant finish that reminds me of Chenas or Julienas.
Glad to say: made in Canada!
