Who says a sommelier can never make a bad choice?
I must admit that this wine disappointed me; unfortunately its main point of interest has to be the low price. To the eye, the wine is of a very pale golden yellow and has a creamy flow. Aromas you find in the Beringer Pinot Grigio are of a fruity nature: pineapple, peach and pear. After opening, the nose has a character that reminds us of almond paste. The mouth fell of this wine: disappointing. The wine is thin and light, and the fruit is lacking, unlike what we would have expected from the smell. The acidity is sharp and we strongly feel the presence of alcohol, despite its rather low level. The finish is a little off and leaves us with bitterness on the palate.
