An unusual blend, in a very simple appellation, with excellent value for the price.
The Maison Tramier & Fils from France produces renowned wines from Burgundy such as Mercurey, Santenay and Pommard. But the Roncier is a simple table wine made to please. An interesting blend of Pinot Noir, Syrah and Gamay creates a light bodied, fruit forward and easy drinking wine.
Light and bright red in color, this wine proposes aromas of intense fruitiness, with red cherry, fresh raspberry and strawberry jam. In mouth, it is a very fresh red, with spicy tannins. The mouth opens up to aromas of vanilla, pink pepper and blond caramel. It could compare to a lower end Brouilly but at a much better price.
